Peekskill Community Congress

Finding shared priorities for community action.

About

We believe in a simple thing: regular people should have more say over the decisions that affect their lives. The Community Congress is a non-partisan initiative that gives people the opportunity to say what they care most about, to identify shared priorities through a community-wide vote, and to engage in becoming part of the solution.

The definition of “congress” not only means “the supreme legislative body of a nation” but also means “the act of coming together.”  It’s called the Community Congress because we believe that people in local communities know best how to solve their own problems and that when they come together to find shared priorities the potential for change is unlimited.
